Hello, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. An expat living in Berlin, Germany.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Germany wasn’t in the plans I had. Like many expatriate moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
Those initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and elevated expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of hands-on learning. Yet routines gradually took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created MivaRozelQel
Most information online leaned toward corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance rooted in real life in Germany.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical experience from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Germany persists, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Sophie
